Hush Puppies Women’s Body Shoe Collection

The Women’s Body Shoe Collection reimagines everyday walking footwear through a blend of ergonomic engineering and approachable, lifestyle-driven design. Each silhouette—whether a bungee slip-on or a traditional lace-up—prioritizes all-day comfort using the brand’s Body Shoe™ technology, lightweight materials, and a modern, easy-to-wear aesthetic. Built on the signature Bounce™ Plus midsole, the range delivers responsive energy return through high-rebound EVA and features a distinctive orange 3D heel pod engineered to absorb heel strike and stabilize the gait cycle. This pod also functions as a key visual cue, signaling the comfort innovation embedded in the design.

As part of the design team, I contributed to shaping the unified language of the collection, helping refine the midsole integration and ensuring the proportions supported both performance and a clean, versatile look. I collaborated with engineering teams on the development of the heel pod, optimizing its geometry for cushioning and gait stability while maintaining its role as a recognizable design element across the line.

Material research played an important role in the project. The collection incorporates breathable mesh uppers, recycled RPET linings, and antimicrobial, moisture-wicking treatments to enhance interior comfort and sustainability. I supported material selection and outsole evaluation, focusing on EVA compounds, flex-groove placements, and durability testing to achieve smooth flexibility and long-lasting traction for daily wear.

The development process was grounded in last research centered on natural foot motion. This ensured a supportive yet unrestricted stride, with thoughtful consideration for arch support, forefoot splay, and heel stability. Throughout early prototyping, I participated in iterative testing—analyzing forefoot flex, refining stability zones, and adjusting midsole densities—to create a consistent heel-to-toe transition and a cohesive comfort experience across all styles.
